A Synergistic Approach to the Study of Military Operations in Western Europe, 1944-1945
This website is dedicated to my dad, Bernie Subko (15 February 1931 — 23 November 2022). Dad grew up during WWII and served in Europe in the US Army 1952 to 1954. He and I enjoyed watching war movies and episodes of “Combat” on TV. I recall the two us going to the theater in 1970 to see the recently released film “Patton” — twice that same evening with “The Longest Day” sandwiched between the showing of Patton! In recent years, he encouraged me to share my knowledge of WWII books, battlefield visits, and miniature wargaming with others. The result is this blog, which I hope will inspire others to explore in depth the history of the European Theater of Operations from D-Day to V-E Day.
